Bangladesh–My Bangladesh (Part-2).
In the history of massacres of the world, there are many inhuman atrocities in a number of wars and battles for gaining political independence and other causes, from the superior powers, such as the former colonial powers like Britain, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Portugal etc. But the events of massacres and atrocities in the First World War (1914—1918) and in the Second World War (1939—1945) have surpassed all other events of massacres and atrocities in the wars and battles of the world. Around 40 million people (both military and civilians) are said to have been killed in this great war, within a matter of nearly four and a half years, fought between Britain, France, Italy, The USA, The Tsarist Russian Empire and other nations of the world, on one side, called the Entente/Alliance Powers, and German Empire, Austro—Hungarian Empire, Ottoman Empire of Turkey and the Kingdom of Bulgaria on the other side, known as the Central Powers. Similarly in the Second World War, fought between Germany, Italy and Japan on one side, called the Axis Powers and Britain, France the USA, the now—defunct Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics and the other nations of the world on the other side, known as the Allied Powers, approximately 80 million people are said have been killed within a matter of nearly six years; of this figure, the Jews of the world and particularly the State of Israel claim that around six million Jews have been massacred by the Hitlerites within the continuation of that great war. In the Vietnam War (1945—1975), it is said that, 03 million people have been massacred by the French Colonialists and later on, the US hegemonists. During the Pol Pot regime, around one million people are said to have been massacred in Kempuchia by that Communist regime within a matter of ten years (1975—1985). There are many more to cite, but that would be simply a wastage of time, energy and patience. So, how can the one hundred thousand brute Pakistani soldiers massacre three million Bangladeshis within a matter of 08 months and 21 days? “History is not history, unless it is the truth”—–so said the 16th President of the USA, Abraham Lincoln (1809—1861).
